New Features for Digital Books Collection!
Patrons can choose their own lending periods for downloadable audiobooks and videos. The maximum loan period will remain the same - 7 days for videos and 14 days for audiobooks. However, patrons now are able to choose a shorter lending period. The new choices for audiobooks are 7 or 14 days; videos may be checked out for 3, 5, or 7 days. The second new feature is a rating system. Patrons can rate all downloadable titles using a 5-star system. The lastest version of the OverDrive Media Console software allows patrons to convert WMA format audiobooks to the MP3 format (if the publisher allows), making these titles iPod-compatible. New Digital Books patrons already are downloading the latest version of OverDrive Media Console, version 3.2. Patrons who have been using older versions will be prompted to upgrade the next time they download an audiobook.
