Chibiconn Art Contest Rules:
Art Contest Registration Form (print out & fill in)
- Contestants may submit up to 2 pieces of art for the contest.
- Springfield City Library is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged art. By entering, the artist assumes all risk to property.
- All submissions must be the original artwork (no photocopies, no e-mailed images) and must be the artists original work. (We will not accept artwork that uses other artists images in any way.)
- Computers may be used for coloring or adding effects to artwork. The artist must submit both the original work pre-computer touch up and the finished work. No purely computer generated artwork will be accepted.
- Art must follow one of three guidelines:
- The artwork shows an original character in an anime/manga style (ie. an original fan fiction character)
- The artwork shows an established character in an anime/manga style (Goku drawn as he appears in Dragon Ball Z, Spider-Man drawn in a manga style)
- The art work shows an established anime character in a style other than anime (i.e Pikachu as a Picasso style painting)
- Artists may submit 2 or 3 dimensional work.
- Work must not exceed 3 feet by 3 feet, or must not be smaller than 3 inches by 3 inches.
- All Artwork must be unsigned. When submitting art, the artists registration sheet must be paper-clipped to each piece of art. (i.e if you submit two pieces, fill out 2 forms) and clip them to the corresponding piece of art.
- Artwork may have a title or dialog included on the piece. Nothing may be presented on the art to allow the judges to identify the artists. If it is deemed by Chibiconn organizers that any piece of art identifies its creator to the judges, it will be disqualified.
- Art must be of a PG nature. No overtly violent or sexual, or nude images will be allowed. Chibiconn organizers reserve the right to judge an artwork inappropriate for the event and allow or disqualify it at their discretion.
- Romantic portrayals are allowed as long as they are PG in nature. This includes hand holding, kissing and hugging. Shonen-Ai and Shojo-Ai are welcome as long as they follow this guideline.
