The East Springfield Branch Library was built in 1932 for the City of Springfield and was the fourth branch library to be built. It houses a comprehensive browsing collection, including a large collection of contemporary adult fiction. BRANCH PROGRAMS:
Fall Fest Open House and Baking Contest East Springfield invites you for an Open House! Drop in on Wednesday, September 24th between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. to check out the Apple Pie/Fall Treats Baking Contest. Bakers get out your rolling pins and start cooking! Be sure to bring the kids for fun crafts and games. Please call 263-6840 for more information. The Friends of the Springfield Library, Inc. have generously provided sponsorship for this program.
Cozy branch, creepy book! Inspired by her visit to a 1760 colonial home in Granby, Massachusetts, author and genealogist Sheila Connolly has woven family history into a contemporary murder mystery. On September 24th come listen to the author discuss her new novel, One Bad Apple, the first of her Orchard Mystery Series. Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing. Her 6:00 p.m. talk will cap the Fall Fest Open House that Wednesday at the East Springfield Branch Library.
The East Springfield Book Group meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 11:15 am. This group chooses a different genre of fiction each month to read and discuss. The genre for the following month will be chosen at the current month's meeting. Join it and widen your book-reading horizons! For more information, contact Paula Shindledecker at 263-6840 or by e-mail at pshindledecker@springfieldlibrary.org. October Genre: Mysteries
