This summer, Teen Summer Reading Club members can Expect the Unexpected. In a book review of 350 to 500 words, tell us how a book that you read this summer has:
- Had an Unexpected effect on you
- Surprised you
- Helped you to see the world differently
- Helped you to see yourself in a new way
- Taught you an Unexpected lesson.
All book reviews will be entered into a drawing; one entrant will win the iPod. Turn your essay in at any branch library to enter the contest and earn 2 raffle tickets for the regular Summer Reading raffle prizes. Librarians will read the essays to make sure that the reviewer has:
- Shown how a specific book affected him or her
- Used examples from the book to explain its effect
- Tried for good grammar, writing style and neatness.
